This is excellent information. I am now 47 years old and have 2 children. Therefore we can only travel in the school holidays. When my son was in year 6 and my daughter in year 4 we took a trip around the world using a little of term time and the school holiday. I wished to try a route using some low cost airlines where possible. It would be a Northern Hemisphere journey. I used Sky Scanner to buy all flights beginning 11 months before our departure day. Our route was London, Copenhagen, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Osaka, Hawaii, Los Angeles, Stockholm and back to London. When was I was 20 years old I travelled around the world in the space of one year. I had a working holiday visa for Australia. My route was London, Los Angeles. Hawaii, Fiji. Sydney, Adelaide overland to Cairns, Darwin, Singapore and back to London. I used Singapore to visit Indonesia and Malaysia as well. I love todays cheap airlines like Air Asia, Scoot, Easy Jet and Ryan Air. I also love Inter Rail. We took a train across Turkey and hopped over to visit Georgia and Armenia.

I’ve never heard of RTW agencies. That’s so interesting! Thanks for the info-I’ll have to look into them!

A round the world trip would be a dream come true. I have traveled extensively but no where near travelling RTW. I still wish I can do this someday. Maybe when I retire 🙂 Great post Marek!
